Africa Mental Health & Wellness Conference, Abuja 2024
The Africa Mental Health & Wellness Conference (AMWC) is an exciting initiative of the Africa Women Impact Summit (AWIS). This conference is designed to intervene and address the critical importance of women’s well-being, encompassing emotional, psychological, physical, and mental aspects. By focusing on empowering women to prioritize their well being, the AMWC aims to combat burnout, stress, and various health issues that often arise due to neglecting personal wellness. The inaugural AMWC event will take place on the 9th of Feburary, 2024, at the prestigious Merit House in Abuja, Nigeria.
The conference will be conducted in collaboration with federal ministries like The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, under the distinguished leadership of the Honorable Minister, Hon. Dr. Betta C. Edu. This partnership serves to support her commendable efforts in promoting mental health and well-being among individuals residing in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps located across Abuja. The conference will encompass a two-week training and capacity building tour of the IDP camps, facilitated by group of mental health specialists who will provide essential assistance in addressing the trauma experienced by victims at these camps through a series of hands on trainings.
