Nomination Process - Africa Women Impact Summit & Awards
Our award nomination and screening processes are as follows:
Nomination Criteria:
A nomination for the Africa Women Impact Awards may be submitted by:
1. Members of national assemblies and national governments (cabinet members/ministers) of sovereign states as well as Heads of States.
2. Members of the International Court of Justice.
3. Members of international associations of women bodies.
4. University professors and associate professors in fields such as history, social sciences, law, philosophy, theology, and sciences.
5. Members of boards of directors of organizations.
6. Entrepreneurs and founders.
7. Current and former political advisers.
8. Civil society groups, the media, and citizens of African countries living anywhere around the world.
Award Process:
The award process involves a public call for nominations followed by a two-step evaluation process:
Process 1
All nominations are initially reviewed by an independent award screening committee to ensure they meet eligibility criteria. Eligible nominees are then forwarded to the Award Advisory Committee for further vetting and confirmation.
Process 2
The Award Advisory Committee, comprising technocrats, civil society groups, and media representatives, under the oversight of the Africa Women Impact Summit Advisory Board, evaluates the nominations. The committee then recommends the award winner to the Management Team and the Governing Board.
